This is a site to promote a particular kind of recreational mathematical activity

- the re-creation and adaptation of geometrical patterns that are part of our everyday life.

I have been inspired by visits to The Alcazar Palace  in Seville, and the Alhambra in Granada, Spain as well as the mosques and palaces of Istanbul. Examples of patterns found there are on the right.

Sugarmaths is for showcasing the work of users of NumberGym Software of all ages. It’s surprising just how easy it is to create stunning designs using Numbergym’s Kaleido Drawing, Turtle Tracks and Making Stick Pictures.  I hope you will send me your own and pupils’ pictures and patterns for me to upload onto the site and inspire others.
